Tonight: Browns - 3.5

...
The Bills are just too inconsistent for me to get behind them.  Sure, they had an impressive win against the Ravens, but just the previous week couldn't beat a Jets team that gave up a mile in penalty yards.  Cleveland, on the other hand, was so impressive in shutting down Cincinnati last week that you barely saw the game on RedZone.  The Browns have become a popular sleeper to win a weak AFC North.  Tonight, they take a half a game lead, with division co-leaders Cincinnati and Baltimore facing the best of the AFC East (New England and Miami).

THE PICK: Browns 23, Bills 17

2013 BQB Mock Draft Challenge

We're back with a preview of the 2013 NFL Draft, which starts tonight at New York's Radio City Music Hall.  Last year, we graded 7 mock drafts and our friend Peter King came out on top.  This year, we'll look at the same set of mock drafts from last year, with two changes -- Mike Mayock replaces Charley Casserly (who, as of this writing, hasn't updated a mock draft in a few days), and Kash Money, last year's last place finisher, drops out, as he (she?) doesn't appear to have published a mock draft this year.

Let's meet the mock drafters:

The Browns: Quiet in Free Agency

The Browns are talkin' bout replacing Peyton Hillis with first rounder Trent Richardson
The Browns, who haven't made the playoffs in a decade and haven't won more than 5 games since 2007, were relatively quiet in free agency this year.  Most of the Browns' buzz centers around their 2 first round draft picks, Trent Richardson and Brandon Weeden.  Our take is that they pretty much blew the draft, but the potential exists for those players to be upgrades at offensive skill positions.  In free agency, they were far more quiet, and as we see below, may have upgraded slightly at DE but nowhere else.

How the Browns Blew the Draft

The Dawg Pound has reason to be melancholy after this weekend's draft

Yesterday, we graded each team, 1 through 32, on its draft this past weekend.  The Bengals came out #1, but the other Ohio team, the Cleveland Browns, fared much worse.  The Browns came in at #29 of #32, and did so in somewhat spectacular fashion.  After the jump, we count the ways the Browns screwed up this weekend, with special appearances from Vince Vaughn and Scott Bakula . . .
