Week 9 Picks

They'd win by 50 if Christian Okoye roamed the backfield . . .

Another week, another missed key pick.  Aaron Rodgers' injury didn't help, but I have to say the Saints were very impressive, especially Mark Ingram.

Trying not to make life difficult on ourselves this week.  We're taking the CHIEFS -10 at home against the Jets.  I don't care who's playing QB for the Jets.  They've been atrocious in all but one game this year (two weeks ago against the Pats), and the Chiefs are sneaky-good, up to fourth in Football Outsiders advanced metrics.  They'll feast on an inept Jets team all day on Sunday.



Rest of the picks:

Tonight (unscored):
PANTHERS +3 over Saints: Overreaction line to last week.  Saints are bad on the road.

Sunday early games:
Bucs +7 over BROWNS: Bucs' defense looked good last week, classic letdown game for Cleveland.

Cardinals +3 over COWBOYS: Dallas wins that game last week if Brandon Weeden's playing down the stretch.  Romo didn't look good.  I'm banking on the Cards being good and Romo not yet being fully recovered.

TEXANS +2.5 over Eagles: Last week felt like a turning point for Philly.  I think they blow this one on the road.

Jaguars +11 over BENGALS: This is finally the week Blake Bortles doesn't throw an interception.

DOLPHINS pick over Chargers: I think Miami is a good team.  Good teams win these sorts of games.

Sunday late games:
NINERS -10 over Rams: San Fran dominated St. Louis in the second half on Monday night three weeks ago.  They'll continue the trend following a bye.

PATRIOTS +3.5 over Broncos: Pats have been very very very good at home.  More than a field goal is too much.

Raiders +15 over SEAHAWKS: Sure.

Sunday night:
STEELERS pick over Ravens: Overreaction line to last week but hard not to like Pittsburgh coming off of that performance.

Monday night:
GIANTS +3.5 over Colts: Last week exposed the Colts' defense.  Eli is licking his chops.
